Actually, there is a shop named Pandit Kanhaiyalal & Durga Prasad in the Parantha Wali Gali of Chandni Chowk. The owner of this shop, Gaurav Tiwari, told Local 18 that Khiladi Akshay Kumar spent his childhood in Chandni Chowk. Akshay’s maternal grandmother’s house is in this street where Akshay Kumar used to live. He told that Akshay Kumar dreamt of going to Bollywood from this house itself. His entire childhood was spent playing in the streets of Chandni Chowk.

The shop is 49 years old
He told that his shop has been running since 1975, Akshay Kumar used to come here to eat parathas since childhood. Other members of his family also used to come here to eat parathas. Many films, web series, Savdhaan India, serials and documentaries have been shot in this shop. Recently, during the shooting of the film Rakshabandhan, Akshay came here with his sister to eat parathas.

Leaders and actors have tasted his parathas
Gaurav Tiwari told that politicians, actors, directors and even cricketers have tasted his parathas at his shop. He has also put up photos of all politicians and actors at his shop. These include Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sheila Dixit, Kapil Dev, Jadeja, Ranbir Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali and Akshay Kumar etc. He told that Imtiaz Ali and Akshay Kumar are his regular customers. Whenever they come to Delhi, they definitely eat parathas from his shop.

25 varieties of parathas are available
Gaurav Tiwari told that you will get 25 types of parathas to eat at his shop, which includes parathas of potato, lentils, cabbage, cashew, bitter gourd, radish, peas, paneer, papad, tomato, rabri and banana etc., which are served with three vegetables. The price of which starts from just 100 rupees and goes up to 150 rupees.
